Angels for Animals Tucson is a small non-profit animal rescue and community outreach organization founded in December of 2009. Angels for Animals Tucson focuses strictly on the animals in the "Dogpatch" community. We are the only rescue group who regularly fights animal abuse & neglect in "Dogpatch". To feed the strays that are dumped or have always lived in "Dogpatch", we have a few feeding stations that we refill regularly with clean water and food. In those feeding stations we have set up dog houses for stray dogs to comfortably seek shelter in. We rescue, rehabilitate and place for adoption the dogs that we can safely trap. Other dogs we cannot trap as they have been living as strays for most of their lives and have become feral; we do still care for feral dogs as much as they will allow us too. Unfortunately, finding deceased dogs in "Dogpatch" is common, we report deceased dogs to PACC for pick up. In rare cases we do find other animals that need our help in "Dogpatch", we have helped horses, goats and cats. Angels for Animals is happy to help ALL the animals of "Dogpatch".
It's important for us to educate the "Dogpatch" community on properly caring for their animals. Once a month we have our Community Outreach Day where we set up a vaccine clinic and educate "Dogpatch" residents. In addition we help residents of "Dogpatch" with medical care for their pets, pet food, fencing and miscellaneous supplies for their animals. We offer low cost spay and neuter surgeries for resident's animals which is sponsored by Spay and Neuter Solutions. By spreading awareness we hope to stop the cycle of unwanted animal pregnancy, abuse, neglect, sickness, and the unnecessary death of animals that has taken place in "Dogpatch" for years.
